Last winter in our motorhome in Tunisia, I spent days and days working into the wee hours creating digital collage papers and textures. I learnt how to use Photoshop and took masses of photos of rust, unfinished paintings, and peeling paint, so I could digitally mix them with patterns and designs. I think it’s about time they were introduced to the big wide world and become all of the beautiful things they have the potential to be!
I’ll just be throwing them out there every now and then, along with some wallpapers I’ve created. I’ll also sequester some away for the sole use of newsletter subscribers (because they’re special!).
My premiere digital papers were blended with a photo of an unfinished painting of mine on canvas and a gorgeous, stained, wrinkly old paper texture. I designed them as collage papers that can be printed out and used in a painting — the way I intended to use them myself — rather than as scrapbook papers, so they’re formatted for a standard 8.5×11 piece of paper rather than the 12×12 scrapbooking dimension. If you do intend to use them, please let me know if this is madness and next time I can make them 12×12. Enjoy!
